The beast lives
There's nothing like standing in the driveway and listening to the roar of a 6 cylinder commodore as it pulls up. The Railway Engineer & I have been going over the new wagon & have almost ticked off everything that needed doing. The Railway Engineer has been driving it for a few days (some cleaver soul smacked into his viva so that's out of action) and fixing up some of the small rust holes in it. There are another couple of holes which I have to see a panel beater about on Saturday morning (9 o'clock would you believe) and then I can take it to the testing station and make it all legal like. It looks good sitting there with the new mags & tires on it. I'm going to put the body kit off the VK on it over the weekend, I'm house sitting at the Railway Engineer's place while they are away, so I have free access to the garage. There is one small thing that could be an issue, the indicators have stopped working so I might have to spend large amounts of the weekend chasing wires and finding out why.
On another note, I've signed up for one of the temporary carparks at work, created by the moving of the houses (see earlier posts). Seams kind of unusual to move 2 houses across the street, put them on top of a carpark and then build another carpark where they were, go figure. There is a potential problem with the new carparks however, they're just dirt with compacted gravel on top. Compacted gravel that doesn't seam all that compacted after a day of people driving on it, and as for the dirt, well after the heavy rain at lunchtime.... (need I say more?)
Just as well the Mazda's four-wheel-drive ah?

Can I suggest you attach a sound file to this post, just so we can get the full effect of the roar of your 6 cylinder commodore?

Could do... if I could work out how...
better yet, why don't I just come visit and you can hear it yourself as I roar down your driveway (and upset all the neighbours)
